TriMedia overview - applications

TriMedia is optimized for a wide variety of applications, in the 'connected media processing' domain. It is a candidate for any application involving video, audio or networking. A large number of products have been made and sold based on current and earlier TriMedia devices.

Although 'typical' applications may seem obvious (enhanced TV, video surveillance..) others leverage strengths of the TriMedia architecture that may not be immediately apparent. For instance TriMedia has been used to implement broadband ADSL modem and home networking, where its capabilities at processing high speed streaming data are very attractive. TriMedia has also been used to implement applications such as Internet Radio - where its audio and networking capabilities alone justify its use.
